weaving

Recycling is the basis of life and of art; I try to dramatize this in my selection of materials – beer cans, plastic bags, newspapers, and my collages, which are mostly recycled magazines and brochures.  Each material comes with specific orders of operation as well as the more general applications, which provide insight into various other media. Each piece is really just an experiment with one or another material or technique although I don't deny dreaming three or four of them. Weaving is a form of meditation as well as a useful transition from one medium to the next. As I also write, whenever it works I include words with my art and art with my words. Words can be divorced from meaning to serve only a decorative function though the best words are both meaningful and pretty.
